“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.” (Philippians 3:21-21)
Previously we crossed a crucial bridge in scripture. Romans, chapter 12, verses 1 and 2 take us from the (His) story of our redemption over to the realization and results of such. We are conformed to the image of His Son over here. We are transformed in body, mind, and spirit, and we prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God over here. We should look and act like Him now. In so doing, we can live the meaningful and abundant life that Jesus promised we would. And in so doing we will turn our upside down world right side up. If this is not an accurate description of how we are living, that tells us we are holding a part or parts of our lives back from God’s use. That is a common condition for most all of us. We must press on that we “may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of (us).” (Philippians 3:12)
As we press on in Christ, God’s purposes and plans for our life will be accomplished. All the while we know our true citizenship is in heaven. And we are assured that either we will go to Him or He will come for us – and we will see our lowly body exchanged for a glorious body. Then…praise the Lord…then…we will be complete.
