“Imagine” – Conclusion

0e26e5937d263c4fa090235700985926“Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there…And they said, “Come let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:1-2, 4)

That Scripture is the one we started with on October 1st in the blog entitled, “Second Coming.” Two points were made: The Tower of Babel was actually mankind’s first attempt at one worldism, and, after many centuries a “second coming” of one worldism is on the fast track. A time of great deception and delusion is upon us. This will culminate in the end times with the dreadful reign of the Antichrist. As in the days of Noah, we must sound the warning of the present degradation and coming destruction. The ark was prepared to provide salvation for eight souls and a much greater Ark has come “through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” (I Peter 3:20-22) We are every person’s debtor and therefore called to testify of this. (Romans 1:14)

Poor John Lennon took a bunch of lumps here when we used his song “Imagine” to draw a picture of one worldism. He just sat down one morning and wrote a really nice song about a really nice sounding world. But, in reality, there is nothing nice about his (and all his comrades) imagined world. In fact, the dreamer’s dreams are hellish nightmares:
1.There is no God of any power or consequence.
2.There is no divine judgment to hold us accountable for our actions.
3.There is no check of good to stop evil intentions and actions.
4.There is no religion to mark our moral boundaries and highest standards.
5.There is no responsibility for others but what is given/taken by the state.
6.There is no diversity through individual expression only group think.
7.There is no making this stuff up, only decades of observable evidence.

The friend that I have mentioned in this series – he is an intelligent, well-read, well-informed, well-spoken, and unapologetic believer in the secular left’s every talking point. He is John Lennon’s vision through and through. He is a source of insight for me. A heart-breaking source of insight. Our discussions have convinced me of why he believes as he does? Oh, it would seem to be a multitude of reasons, but it is really only one. The first on the list above: There is no God of any power or consequence. He is sure that if a higher power of some kind exists, he, she or it has dropped the ball. He, she or it has made a mess of everything. Therefore, it is up to man to fix what this incompetent deity has broken. The dreamers must assume the role of God for the good of all. Just get out of the way. They promise to recreate Eden.

That is indeed a real siren song to the human race. We are all Adamites. We yearn deep down in our being for the Garden. We are actually desperate for Eden. We’d be stupefied if we realized how much of our human activity is either trying to get some Eden into our lives, or to numb the pain and grief caused by its absence from our lives. We want to walk in the cool of the day with our Creator once again. We weren’t made for this treacherous world outside of the Garden. We want to go home. Some are convinced building a tower whose top is in the heavens is the way home. Others believe dressing up our dead corpses’ in religious garments is the way home. A few…a few, know the only way home, is by way of the Cross. “For since by man (Adam) came death, by Man (Jesus Christ) also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.” (I Corinthians 15:21-22)

Eden is in Christ.

What about your way home? I beg you on behalf of Christ to follow His way home. Our Creator has pulled back the curtain and reveals to us that which we seek: “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:1-5)
